Commitment Ceremony

Committed to Commitment

A commitment ceremony is a beautiful way for two people to celebrate their love and promise to each other, without the legal requirements of a traditional marriage. It’s a flexible, personal, and deeply meaningful occasion that can be shaped entirely around you and your relationship.

Whether you’re not planning to legally marry, can’t for personal or legal reasons, or simply prefer a more relaxed and bespoke celebration, a commitment ceremony offers a heartfelt alternative.

A commitment ceremony is a celebration where two people declare their dedication to one another. It can look and feel very similar to a wedding, but without the legal paperwork.

There are no strict rules. You might choose to include:

  • Personal vows you’ve written yourselves
  • Ring exchanges or other symbolic gestures
  • Readings from friends or family
  • Music that means something to you
  • Rituals that reflect your values, culture, or shared journey
  • Children can make a ceremony feel extra special too

You can choose to have a large gathering with guests, or if you prefer something intimate with just a few loved ones.

Whilst this ceremony is not legally recognised it is just as significant as you are committing your lives to each other.

At its heart, it’s about celebrating your relationship in a way that feels authentic to you.
